Electronics
We carry Border Patrol and Manley Laboratories tube electronics. These products represent the finest in vacuum tube based electronics, are all hand made in the US, and are hand wired point to point. They are supremely musical, and an exceptionally good match with Wilson Benesch speakers. Both lines offer components at a wide variety of price points, and amplifiers in both push pull and single ended triode configuration, to provide the ideal match for both your speakers, listening habits, and musical taste.
Manley offers a range of amplifiers from the 40 watt integrated Stingray to the Neo-Classic 500 watt monoblocks, and a variety of amplifiers in between, as well as preamplifiers, a DAC, and the Steelhead, perhaps the world's most famous and highly regarded phono preamplifier. Border Patrol focuses on 300B based amplifiers in both push pull and single ended triode configuration, featuring a proprietary tube regulated outboard power supply, resulting in superbly clean and dynamic sound. A preamplifier, with or without phono, is also available and similarly features a thoughtfully engineered choke regulated power supply.
We encourage you to audition these fine products today.
Cliché as it may sound, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Thus the audiophile adage, "a pair of speakers will sound only as good as the electronics driving them." Thanks to advances in technology, audio electronics have evolved at a staggering pace. Especially in areas such as digital audio (CD players for example) the quality of sound available today is substantially better than ever before. But, odd as it may seem, even "old school" technology such as vacuum tube circuits sound better today than ever before - the result of better output transformers, better power supplies, and numerous other advances which have opened the door to a new era in high fidelity.
